Research Ethics Policy
AHM journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of research ethics and integrity. We expect authors to adhere to rigorous ethical principles throughout the research process, from study design to data collection, analysis, and reporting. This policy is designed to ensure that the research published in AHM journal meets the ethical standards established by relevant regulatory bodies and international guidelines.
1. Ethical Approval:
- Authors must provide information regarding the ethical approval obtained for their research. Studies involving human subjects should be conducted in accordance with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and/or relevant local regulations. Authors should state that appropriate ethical approval was obtained from an institutional review board or ethics committee.
- For research involving animal subjects, authors should adhere to recognized animal welfare guidelines, such as the Animal Welfare Act or the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. Authors must provide details regarding the ethical approval obtained from an institutional animal care and use committee or equivalent.
2. Informed Consent:
- Authors must ensure that informed consent was obtained from all human participants or their legal guardians. The consent process should provide clear and comprehensive information about the study, its objectives, procedures, potential risks and benefits, and participants’ rights.
- Authors should state that informed consent was obtained in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. They should describe how informed consent was obtained and how participant confidentiality and privacy were protected.
3. Protection of Human Subjects:
- Authors must prioritize the welfare and rights of human subjects involved in the research. They should take appropriate measures to minimize potential harm or discomfort to participants.
- Authors should protect the confidentiality and privacy of human subjects by anonymizing data and removing personally identifiable information.
4. Data Integrity and Transparency:
- Authors should conduct their research with honesty and integrity. They should accurately report their methods, results, and conclusions, and avoid fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
- Authors should retain raw data and research records as per institutional policies and be prepared to provide access to such data upon reasonable request.
5. Conflict of Interest:
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or presentation of their research findings. These conflicts may include financial relationships, employment affiliations, or personal connections that may bias the research.
- Editors, reviewers, and editorial board members should also disclose any conflicts of interest related to the submitted manuscript and recuse themselves from the review process if necessary.
6. Reporting Ethical Concerns:
AHM journal encourages the reporting of any ethical concerns related to published research. We take such concerns seriously and will investigate and take appropriate actions if ethical misconduct is suspected.
